Greetings fellow fanatics of the fantastical realm!
I do so hope that you have all had a fabulous Christmas and New Years!
Something extra exciting in the Anime-land hopped over my Tumblr-dash today that I thought I would share with you all, because I am super-excited about it.
If you are like me, born somewhere in the 80s—90s it is possible that you will remember Sailor Moon. I remember it very well, because it was pretty much my first Anime, along with Samurai Pizza Cats, and DRAGON BALL Z, and a scattering of others that I honestly cannot recall the names of.
But Sailor Moon impacted me dramatically, with my overactive imagination, I would run around my backyard pretending to be a Sailor Scout. I felt brave, heroic, empowered, like I could take on the forces of evil and win. Everything I could not do in the real world.
So, to say that I am happy with the announcement that they’re picking Sailor Moon back up might be a small understatement. I am thrilled! (I just cross my fingers and hope it is all I dream it to be)
Niconico blog and the official Sailor Moon website have (finally) confirmed that a NEW Sailor Moon anime will be released this year in July! I do not have very much detailing about it yet, but if you are a fan of the anime series One Piece then you might know the director Munechisa Sakai, apparently he has been lined up to direct this new Sailor Moon.
Personally, I’m pretty curious about how that goes.
The series will be produced by Toei, who produced the original series.
As far as I can tell, as there is not much information floating about internet land about whether or not a TV channel will be airing the anime series, so thus far it might look like it could be available only through Niconico, which is a subscription based streaming service. Guess I might be waiting until it’s released on BluRay here in Aussie-land, could be awhile, but hey, it’s been seven-teen years—this at least is progress!
So tell me folks, what do you think about this? Good, bad?
