Everyone is gearing up for Star Wars: The Force Awakens coming next December, and that includes museums. EMP Museum in Seattle, WA will be hosting an exhibit called “Rebel, Jedi, Princess, Queen: Star Wars and the Power of Costume”, which will showcase sixty of the most iconic costumes from all six movies of the epic saga.

Through nine presentational “chapters”—Introduction: Dressing a Galaxy; Jedi versus Sith: Form, Function and Design; Concept and Design for Royalty and Beyond; Symbolism and Military Power; Outlaws and Outsiders; All Corners of the Galaxy: The Galactic Senate; After the Throne: Padmé’s Journey; Darth Vader: Iconic Villain; and Droid™ Design: C-3PO and R2-D2—visitors will be able to explore the creative process behind the names and faces that would come to shape the timeless story of a hero’s journey.

This exhibit promises to be a must-see event for anyone even the slightest bit interested in the intricacies of creating the costumes for one of the most analyzed and beloved film franchises in history. Tickets go on sale for museum members January 5-7, 2015 and to the public on January 8. It will run from January 31 through October 24, 2015, and will be only the first stop in a 12-city circuit.
