With the excitement of the announcement of new Star Wars movies led by powerhouse director, J.J. Abrams, also comes the many rumors and speculations as to what the movie will be about and who will be in the cast.
The latest rumor blowing up on the internet has come from an exclusive from a comment from the very boisterous Dominic Monaghan on DesdeHollywood sparking a buzz on the internet!
When asked if he was going to be in the next Star Wars movie, “Of course. I am Yoda’s grandson!”. when asked if he would appear in the next Star Wars installment. He then went on to say, “Well, I can’t answer that question. Ask J.J. Abrams. He’ll know.”
One could take this as the usual joking nature of Monoghan however, his appearance on HuffPost Live is really telling of how much a fan he is of the Star Wars franchise and how personal the films were to him. Gives the impression of either his campaign to Abrams or PR for the upcoming movies and his own possible appearance.
Monaghan has a very strong presence on camera and would make a great addition, if true, to the upcoming movies…but who would he play? One scenario that comes to my mind would be an episode 7 many years ago that sees the Jedi Academy installed by Master Luke Skywalker. I could see a strong performance from Monaghan playing one of the sons of Han and Leia named Jacen Solo – who’s eventural fall to the Darkside would make a compelling story.
Time will tell over the next year in the “soap opera” that is the speculation of Episode VII!
