Fans of the young adult novel, The Giver, by Lois Lowry, surely know about the upcoming movie starring Jeff Bridges.  The hype has been around for some time.  But those fans who are at ComicCon this weekend have been treated to an even more expanded preview of the movie, which is set to release in just a few weeks.  Bridges attended the convention to talk about a movie project that has been near and dear to his heart for many years.

For those who read the book when they were younger, this should be an exciting experience to see it finally come to life on the screen.  Despite being an early classic of young adult literature, it’s taken a bit longer than many more recent books written for the age group.  Hopefully, that extra time to develop will make this adaptation as classic as the book that inspired it.  (And perhaps the rest of the books in the series will find their way to the big screen as well!)
