Renly Baratheon Talks Game of Thrones

geth11-4959058Anthony Gethin, who plays Renly Baratheon on the Hit HBO series Game of Thrones, sits down with Legendarium’s Jay Johnstone to talk about strong female leads, butt doubles, and working with Finn Jones.  When asked if he employed a ‘butt’ stand-in on his intimate scene with Loras Tyrell, played by Finn Jones, his reply was, “No I don’t have a derriere stand-in, my behind is fine.”

Season 4 of Game of Thrones is finally here, and we recently had the opportunity to sit down with Anthony and have a candid chat.  Gethin, who at 31, is a true professional in his craft.  He was ‘head boy’ at Tiffin School in Kingston, later giving acting workshops.  A graduate from Balliol College, Oxford where he received a degree in English literature, going on to study at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Gethin is not just a superb actor, but also one of those rare thespians. A highly intelligent one.

In the interview you’ll discover an articulate, and intelligent individual, who comes across very much as a ‘regular’ person.  He speaks candidly about meeting Jones on Facebook before filming started, and sharing pints at the local pub.  One of our favorite interviews.
