New Zealand Earthquake Grounds The Hobbit Eagle

“Eagle down, Eagle down!”

A 6.3 magnitude quake rocked Wellington, New Zealand today. Although no injuries have been reported, the Hobbit Eagle display at the Wellington Airport did “crash and burn”. The Telegraph talked to a witness in the airport about the fall of the winged giant;

“[The eagle] started shaking heaps and rattling, we jumped under the table,” she told The Dominion Post. “The eagle fell on top of us. We ran away … I definitely know I was hit on the head kind of thing but it didn’t hurt or anything like that… I don’t think anyone really saw us, all the mums were screaming, it was quite panicked.”

Looks like Gandalf won`t be able to rely on his feathered friends any time soon!
