Game of Thrones Confirmed for Season 4

Girlfriends and boyfriends of die-hard Game of Thrones fans out there, who themselves just cannot tell the difference between a Stark and a Baratheon, brace yourselves!

HBO has officially stated on 3 April that there will be a fourth season of the series. Hence, more cold-blooded killings by the sword, more scenes of sprawling disheveled quasi-medieval life, and more Machiavellian intrigue to delight the true fans of the show whilst the still uninitiated stumbling across the show for the first time are trying to establish who exactly is wooing whom, and who is “this long-haired guy getting murdered?”

Possibly the most gripping and popular of medieval fantasy series to have made it onto the small screen from the pages of the original book since the universal obsession with the Lord of the Rings movies, The Game of Thrones is certainly highly worth watching. Although it does make sense to cast furtive glances every now and then at the conveniently open Wikipedia page on your laptop just to get a sense of what is happening, if you are coming across the series for the first time (or better still, why not start by reading the books?), you cannot fail but feel involved with what is happening – and I promise, as the yarn progresses, it gets darker and more twisted still (although I am not going to give you any spoilers here).

Either way, if you are already avidly following the goings-on in the seven kingdoms of Westeros, you would certainly be delighted to find out that there is more adventures yet to come. And if you haven’t seen any of the series yet, check it out! As a good friend of mine once said, “it’s like your Lord of the Rings, only scarier.”
